An Open Letter to Feminist on International Men’s Day
Dedicated to all the men of the
society, I would like to congratulate them on this International Men’s Day as
all the women are busy and forgetting this special day. 19th
November is celebrated to be as International Men’s Day dignifying all the men
in the society, but I believe it should get equal importance as all the others
day get , this saying of mine might hurt sentiments of a few people but I
believe the importance of International men’s day have been lost somehow. No one can deny the
fact that women of our society were suppressed in ancient times but now so I
guess the times have changed they are treated to be equal as men, therefore we
celebrate Women’s Day with utmost enthusiasm and excitement even most of the
famous personalities congratulate women and run many campaigns on social media in
order to show women their importance in the society. But nobody is even
concerned about the fact that we also have International Men’s Day to celebrate
and:
· MEN LIKE SHOPPING TOO
·
MEN ARE AFRAID OF LIZARDS TOO
·
MEN LIKE BEING HOUSE HUSBANDS
·
MEN GET MOOD SWINGS TOO
·
MEN LIKE PAMERING TOO
·
MEN CRY TOO
The objective of this day is to focus
on men's and boys' health, improving gender relations and promoting gender
equality and also giving importance to
the male role models of the society.
A woman simply is, but a man must
become. Masculinity is risky and elusive. It is achieved by a revolt from a
woman, and it confirmed only by other men. Manhood coerced into sensitivity is
no manhood at all.” –Camille Paglia.
This quote describes the exact life
of what a man leads, we always have to prove our masculinity and we turn into a
man after a certain age. We have actually attained our masculinity or not are
described by the other genders of the society. We are open to up gradations and advancements
whether it be technology or changing the mindset of people in the society but
giving importance to one particular gender and suppressing the other one. We
men also need to be treated equally and our important days also need to be
celebrated with equal importance.
