Jaipur: The land of kings and lords of heritage
‘Jaipur is the finest piece of jewelry ever created on Earth, where the king was the jeweler and bricks were his gems’. Home to over 3 million people, Jaipur is the Capital to the largest Indian state- Rajasthan. The city is a standout amongst the most socially rich legacy of urban areas in India and also the first planned city of India. Jaipur has been popularized with the name of Pink City because of the color of the stone exclusively used for the construction of all the structures. In 1876, the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria visited India on a tour. Since pink denotes the color of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the whole city pink in color to welcome the guests. The walled city, thereby remains pink till date by the courtesy of the residents who’ve maintained it this way for generations.
